Nearly 1,000 children under the age of 5 die every day from illness caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation and improper hygiene. A lack of access to clean water is devastating to families in poor, rural communities. Moved with compassion by these horrific facts, the team at Smile Savvy felt compelled to do what we can to help those without access to clean water.
Smile Savvy is proud to announce that we’ve partnered with World Vision’s WASH program to help bring clean, safe water to children and families across the world. Each new website that we build now provides 3 years of clean water to a family of four.
An Achievable Goal
World Vision is the largest non-governmental provider of clean water in the developing world, and their services provide water to one new person every 30 seconds in the most critical areas of the globe. Through the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) program, World Vision also teaches about safe water handling and storage, as well as how to use soap for washing hands and dishes.
Easing Economic Burdens
For too many, finding clean water is a daily struggle that occupies a lot of time and impedes their ability to access education and meaningful employment opportunities. World Vision installs clean drinking wells and latrines for families and entire communities so that accessing water is no longer a burden that stands in the way of personal health and growth.
World Vision also works to lift families out of poverty by providing sustainable economic empowerment by teaching a trade to women who no longer have to spend hours each day collecting drinking water. Further, the WASH program also provides clean water, sanitation and hygiene to 4 new schools every day.
Brightening Children’s Future
Smile Savvy is excited to partner with World Vision’s WASH program, because we understand that children are invaluable to our global future, and that every child deserves access to clean water.
It is so important to us that children living in poverty have access to the tools they need to thrive and improve their communities. Smile Savvy is committed to helping through our partnership with World Vision.
When dental professionals purchase a website through Smile Savvy, a family of four will receive clean water for 3 years. Click here to learn more about our work with World Vision, and how you can help.
