There are a lot of companies offering Search Engine Optimization (SEO) services. While some of these companies are legitimate, the unfortunate reality is that there are many more that use scare tactics or unrealistic promises to take advantage of dentists.
Smile Savvy customers know that we design each site with SEO in mind. How do we do this? Here are just a few of the ways:
Keyword Optimization
We’ve been building dentists’ websites for 13 years. We know what keywords to use for your target audience, both in the front end (what you physically see on the site itself) and the back end of website (in the coding). We look at search words that potential patients enter most frequently when searching for a dentist in their area and optimize your site to return the best results possible.
Website Coding Compliant With Accepted Web Standards
While Google and other search engines don’t release their exact algorithm which determines search placement, they do let developers know what best practices and basic guidelines to follow when building a website. We always stay up to date with the most recent web standards and each new site we build follows these widely accepted guidelines.
Image Optimization
Images on our sites are optimized with your target keywords using alternative text. Since search engines cannot “see” pictures, Smile Savvy web designers include background coding that helps search engines to read text that is relevant to your site and your audience.
SEO Friendly Domain Recommendations
While each domain choice is ultimately up to the customer, we have found that including key words in your URL can be helpful, especially for local search optimization. We work with each practice on choosing a domain that will give you the best results possible.
Manual submission to Google
Instead of waiting for Google to find your website and its content, Smile Savvy seeks to increase your visibility by manually submitting your website for Google search. We do this by adding your URL to Google’s index, labeling your content to help users find pages relevant to their search and a submitting a sitemap of your website to Google. We also help our customers set up Google Analytics, so they can track their website’s progress and get detailed information about their site’s traffic.
Staying On Top
The internet is constantly transforming with search engines making frequent changes to their search algorithms and web design standards evolving with new technology. Your site may also face the search challenges of new practices in your area and greater competition. This is why we also provide continual SEO optimization services. Our customers enjoy:
- Free SEO Review to see what changes, if any, may need to be made.
- Comprehensive SEO updates billed at 95/hour (usually takes 1-2 hours).
- Complete, ongoing SEO management available through Practice Promoter.
- New website or reprogramming of existing sites to update code following modern-day standards. This is generally recommended for all sites three years old or older.
- Local Search submission and Social Media to increase your reach.
- The addition of a blog for regularly updated content (which all search engines place higher value on).
If you are a Smile Savvy customer, we recommend contacting us before hiring an outside company for search engine optimization. You may find that many of the services they want to charge you for, we already provide at no cost. We can also guide you towards effective and cost saving tools while helping you to define realistic goals for your website’s search placement.

I am currently your customer. I have been approached by few companies in last few months to help me with SEO. I like to know what you have to offer me?
Dr. Edalatpour,
Thank you for asking! The good news is that your site is the #1 organic search result when looking for “Pediatric Dentists in Stoneham , MA” . Your Facebook page also shows up on the first page as well, so that is terrific. Because your site is relatively new, and getting such great results already, you may not need any changes at all, although we would be happy to review your site in detail and offer suggestions if needed.
I think the greatest need your site has is that your local search results be claimed and optimized as you aren’t appearing in Google’s local search results. Feel free to look over our local search package and contact us if you are interested. just visit: https://www.smilesavvy.com/local-search/ I’ll also send this in an email to you as well. Thanks again! – Scott Childress, Smile Savvy
