Facebook has rolled out a new version of the Like button. Simply by hovering over “Like” on any desktop post, or holding down the Like button, your dental practice fan Page followers can give different Reactions to your post. Instead of a basic Like, Facebook users can now choose between Love, Haha, Wow, Sad and Angry. The total number of each reaction is displayed under the post.
How can dental practices use this?
Nearly everything you post should have some form of call to action, giving people some way to interact with your post. Higher engagement will show your posts to a higher percentage of your followers, expose your practice to their friends and give your posts a longer lifespan in the newsfeed. Before Reactions, you were limited to calls to action such as, “Like this post if…”. “Share this post with…”, or possibly, “Click here to read…”. Now you can ask for even more through Reactions.
Posts with dental facts can now have a Wow response. Memorial posts or serious posts can now include the Sad Reaction, especially where giving a simple Like seems out of place. Your followers now have a chance to tell you if they find a picture or joke humorous by using Funny. Undoubtedly, these new Reactions are going to be initially very popular, so it’s a great opportunity to share content that you feel is going to receive high engagement.
How will YOU use Reactions?
We would love to see how your practice is using Reactions. Feel free to post a link to your Facebook Page in the comments and share any creative ideas you’ve had!
